I share all the same thoughts on 'Present Day Christmas'. I am showered by gifts on Christmas and it robs me of the true FEELING of Christmas. I don't feel that gifts given on Christmas is a bad thing, but I truly feel that there is no need for more than 3 gifts given as Jesus Christ (CHRISTmas) was only given 3 from the wise men. Should we not reflect the true meaning of Christmas? I think we should focus on all the symbolism. Candy Cane = the Shepards cane, Gifts = Gifts given to Christ at His birth by the wise men, etc etc. We're not expected to be perfect, but we are expected to listen and to strive to be perfect. I agree, the world is moving towards being more and more materialistic. It seems that everyone is trying to Bigger and Better EVERYTHING and it's only causing destruction to everything.
